Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Hey there! If you are reading this, that means you have already said hello, and I will be replying to you as soon as I can ๐Ÿ˜Š.

I have created this page just for you. Read this as if we have gone for tea โ˜•๏ธ  together before your dream project, and you get a chance to understand how everything will be coming together from start to finish. If you still have a question you think I did not answer, send me an email and I will be sure to address your concern.

How do we make a concept for the shoot?

Sometimes, people come to me with a specific request (recreate my nan's portraits from 50 years ago, please can you do a couple's shoot, or I need a headshot). Other times they come with a vision. You have seen a picture in a magazine, or on social media that you think captures your idea. Other times, you have some clothes, a product or a research theme you want to explore, but you have no idea on the next step to take. The fancy word is consultation, but I call you and we have a chat about your vision, we share ideas, I make suggestions, we create a moodboard, and you get to pick what feels right. No quibbles, no fuss.

How long does the shoot take?

Usually, shoots range from blocks of a couple hours to a whole day. Time really flies when we have fun though! We shoot until the vision is captured but it is always faster when we have a concept in mind. This is because we understand each other better and I am free to bring your vision to life.

What locations are included?

I live for location/outdoor shooting and this is UK wide. I have portable lights, the cameras ๐Ÿ“ท, and we will make the action ๐Ÿ˜‰. I have worked in studios and indoor locations on request, but this is hired by the client. If you want the perspective of the drone, this can be done, but we may need a location with lots of open space for health and safety. For international work and research, please email me with as much detail as you can share, politics/law can be tricky.

What happens if I want photos printed?

This is another job in itself. Images have to be adjusted before they can be printed right, and sometimes you will want your images mounted and framed. I am very happy to do it, but this is another client cost so we need to have this conversation before a fee is set.

Money and payment, how does that go?

60% payment is due before the shoot, this is a deposit, and it is non-refundable. Not only does it go towards shooting costs (film, processing, travel etc), it allows me to dedicate the day for you, and my time and energy to planning your shoot. It also provides some money for printing which has become even more expensive. After we have completed the shoot and you have received your images, the remaining 40% is due immediately. You will receive invoices that reflect payment status and a receipt ๐Ÿงพ when you have paid in full.

What happens if I can't make the shoot?

If you cannot make the original shoot because of bad weather or sickness, we can use your deposit to plan for another date. If you are no longer free on the original date we planned, please tell me 3 working days in advance so I can shuffle things around for you. If you cancel the shoot and no longer wish to go ahead, the 60% deposit is still non-refundable

What happens after the shoot?

The images are sent off to the lab for processing, I send you a contact sheet (photo previews), we pick the best ones, and then I send the final edited photos to you within 10 days.

Do you send any unedited photos?

No, no, no, no, no! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It's like showing up to an event in the wrong clothes, you don't quite get another chance to make a good impression.

How do I receive my photos?

There are 3 ways this can happen.

1. I can send you the images via WeTransfer (this is an email service), really fast and secure.

2. I can have them posted via a USB box custom designed with colours/photos that reflect your vision. (Extra cost, so we chat beforehand about this one) ๐Ÿ˜‰.

3. Physical prints will be posted to your house ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ“ฌ and a digital copy sent via WeTransfer if needed.

I delete all file copies very quickly! This is to comply with standards for data protection. Any requests for edits or copies need to be made within 7 days.

Where/how can I leave a review?

I am on LinkedIn, I am on YunoJuno, and I am on Instagram. Please feel free to share how your photoshoot with me has gone and how you feel about the results. Reviews make or break small businesses, thank you! โญ๏ธ
